Management Board
The operations of PLIVA HRVATSKA are managed by the Management Board, with Matko Bolanča as its President and Mirjana Mesec, Miran Denac and Zoran Bunčić as its members. Each of the Management Board members is responsible for an individual segment of the company’s business operations.
President of the Management Board
Matko Bolanča was appointed President of PLIVA’s Management Board in December 2008. He is also General Manager of PLIVA in Croatia. His responsibilities within Teva cover the operations in Southeast Europe and PLIVA's management team in Croatia.
Mr. Bolanča joined PLIVA in 2001, as the Deputy Marketing Director for Central and Eastern Europe, and was appointed the Director of Market Croatia in September of the same year. Since 2007 he has held the position of the President of the Management Board of PLIVA HRVATSKA d.o.o. and Director of the Region South and Eastern Europe.
He was born in 1967 in Zagreb, where he finished primary and secondary school. In 1992 he graduated from the Medical School of the University of Zagreb, where he was awarded for his scientific and social achievements. He continued his education at a number of scientific and professional institutions, and completed his MBA studies in 2005. He started his career at Merck Sharp & Dohme IDEA Inc. in 1997.
Mr. Bolanča is a member of a number of professional societies and associations, such as the Croatian Medical Association, World Academy of Art and Science, Croatian Academy of Engineering, and many others.
Member of the Management Board, Finance and CFO
Siniša Žanetić was born in Split in 1967. He studied at the University of Zagreb (International Business) and at a number of prestigious business schools in the USA (Harvard Business School; Lynn University Boca Raton; Northwood University West Palm Beach, Florida).
Mr. Žanetić started his career in the USA, where he worked as Investment and Property Manager in Sterling Companies and Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch. In Croatia, Mr. Žanetić was CFO and member of the management board, and CEO and president of the management board of a number of renowned banks.
Member of the Management Board and Executive Director of TAPI Croatia
Zoran Bunčić was born in Požega in 1962. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the University of Zagreb in 1986. As one of PLIVA's scholarship holders, he joined PLIVA a year later as a technologist in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and soon advanced to the position of Vitamin C Production Plant Manager. From 1995 to 1998 he led the Project Team for the expansion of Vitamin C production capacities, after which he held the positions of API Development Director and API Technical Operations Director.
In 2001 he became API Division Director and thus responsible for its entire business operations. Since December 2008 he has held the position of the Executive Director of TAPI Croatia within BU TAPI Europe, i.e. Teva's API Division. He became a member of the Management Board of PLIVA HRVATSKA d.o.o. in 2009. He is a member of several professional associations such as the CphI Innovation Committee.
Member of the Management Board and Executive Director of Product Supply Croatia
Miran Denac, Ph.D. was born in 1957. He graduated from Chemical Engineering at ETH in Zurich in 1981, where he also obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering in 1986. He completed postdoctoral studies at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland in Australia.
He joined PLIVA in 2002 in the position of senior director of Global Pharma Operations, and has held the positions of member of the Management Board of PLIVA HRVATSKA and executive director of Product Supply Croatia since 2007. He is responsible for product supply, including complete technical operations, purchasing, production, maintenance, safety at work and environmental protection, validation, facility management and warehousing. Before he joined PLIVA, Mr. Denac gained rich international experience in several renowned companies and university institutions.
